Spectacular week: Runway, ElevenLabs, Suno, Claude, and the voice of ChatGPT have us floating

Second consecutive week with generative AI moving full speed ahead. Runway launches its new motion capture feature for facial expression using artificial intelligence, Act-One, a new tool for creating realistic animations with AI. ElevenLabs now allows you to create a personalized voice from a text message with Voice Design. Canva has also launched Dream Lab, a tool using the Phoenix model technology from Leonardo AI that lets anyone create images. Suno and Timbaland have formed an alliance, with the singer embracing music production with artificial intelligence. Paréntesis MEDia headlines: Suno partners with artist Timbaland, a union that could change the music paradigm. The singer's new single will be available for fans to create remixes with generative AI.

Claude, Anthropic's AI that has outperformed ChatGPT, has updated the Claude 3.5 Sonnet model, which can control your computer on its own. This week, if that weren't enough, ChatGPT's advanced voice model has arrived in Europe, both for paid and free users. You simply have to start a new chat or restart the OpenAI app and click on a sound icon next to the microphone icon in the text message box to converse with ChatGPT. You can choose a voice from various 'male' and 'female' options. This will revolutionize how we interact with the chatbot, taking a very important and 'humanizing' step for the AI 'personal assistant.' You can speak in any language, meaning that OpenAI has leapfrogged with Spanish, Catalan, Galician, and Basque over the famous public and open ChatGPT promised by Pedro Sánchez for this year. The advanced voice option is rolling out across Europe, with some ethical and regulatory restrictions that prevent certain uses of ChatGPT's voice for entertainment purposes.

Another advance this week for Spanish-speaking AI users is Google's Notebook LM feature, now able to generate podcasts and audio summaries from texts and documents in Spanish. Until this week, it was only available in English. We also now have Gemini Live in Spanish, and Microsoft Copilot can be integrated into WhatsApp. Paréntesis MEDia explains how to set it up in a minute.

It's spectacular! In our previous Algoritmo Transparente newsletter, we headlined "Generative AI for video and audio accelerates with Adobe, Suno, and Notebook LM." In this edition, we should title it: the acceleration breaks all speed limits. You have homework for the weekend. Click on the links I have provided throughout the article. Act-One from Runway + ElevenLabs' Voice Design + Canva's Dream Lab + Claude 3.5 Sonnet from Anthropic + Suno and Timbaland + ChatGPT with advanced voice + Google's Notebook LM + Gemini Live + Copilot in WhatsApp = Guaranteed fun. You can spend hours and hours, and you'll see how your curiosity, user experience, productivity, and creativity skyrocket with this week's updates. Are we aware of the speed and competition between companies right now? Generative AI is moving like a rocket, while AI-powered devices are struggling as the year comes to a close. Over the past few months, we've witnessed the failure of Humane's AI Pin and Rabbit R1 devices, and this week, news arrived that Apple is halting the production of its Vision Pro augmented reality glasses. This 2024 will, among many other things, be the year of AI applications and services, marking a clear shift away from devices.
